Vani Kapoor (born 23 August 1988) [1] is an Indian actress best known for her work in Bollywood films produced by Yash Raj Films . [2] [3] She made her film debut in the 2013 romantic comedy Shuddh Desi Romance, a critical and commercial success that earned her a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut . The company's romantic comedy Aha Kalyanam (2014) and Befikre (in 2016) she went to acting .
Life and career [ edit ]
Kapoor's father is a furniture export entrepreneur and his mother is a teacher-to-marketing executive. He did his schooling at Mata Jai Kaur Public School in Ashok Vihar , Delhi . He later enrolled at the Indira Gandhi National Open University , completed a bachelor's degree in tourism studies, after which he did an internship at Oberoi Hotels & Resorts in Jaipur and later worked for the ITC Hotel. She was signed by Elite Model Management for modeling projects . [4]
He later signed a three-film deal with Yash Raj Films . [5] Kapoor was selected through auditions to play a supporting role in the romantic comedy Shuddh Desi Romance with Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra . The film , made on the subject of a live-in relationship , received positive response from critics and praised Kapoor's portrayal of Tara, an outspoken girl. Ki Mohar Basu Koimoi wrote that Kapoor was "a pleasant debutant although she is not an outspoken powerful actress" [6] , while Ki Madhureeta Mukherjee of The Times of IndiaThought she is "impressive, beautiful and commands a good screen-presence". [7] Shuddh Desi Romance collected ₹ 46 crore at the domestic box office (US $ 6.8 million) and emerged as a commercial success. His next release was the Tamil romantic comedy Aaha Kalyanam , the official remake of the 2010 Hindi film band Baaja Baaraat . In 2019, he appeared in an action-thriller film War , starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. The film is directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Yash Raj Films . [14] War set the record for the highest opening day collection for a Bollywood film in India, and with a worldwide gross of more than ₹ 450 crores, it became the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2019 .
