Early life [ edit ]
Hogan, son of a housewife and dance teacher, Ruth and a construction foreman, Peter Bolia, was raised in Tampa, Florida . As a child, he was a pitcher (a player throwing baseball player) in Little League Baseball . From the age of 16, he started seeing professional wrestling. At high school, he was a big fan of Dusty Hearodesand was regularly present at the events of Tampa Sportatorium. For the first time in one of their wrestling events, his attention went towards "superstar" Billy Grahamand he was motivated by them. [9] Hogan was also an accomplished musician, who played bass guitar in various rock bands located in FloridaSpent ten years as a player. [9] In those days, many wrestling wrestlers in the Florida area used to come to the wine mines, where Hogan used to perform his musical presentation. He then joined the University of South Florida , but he dropped out in the middle; He used to spend most of his time in a local gymnasium, where he met the sub-wrestler Mike Graham , who was the son of the famous wrestler and National Wrestling Alliance president Eddie Graham . Hogan's Body-Formation Jake Brisco and his brother GeraldAttention also attracted attention. Hogan had a length of 6'4 "and weighing about 260 pounds. Both of them convinced Hogan to try in the field of wrestling. Hogan accepted this idea as a wrestling fan since childhood and In 1976, Mike Graham introduced Hogan to Hero Matsuda , who was one of the top trainers of the game. According to Hogan, during his first training session, Matsuda took his sarcastic tone He asked, "So you want to be a wrestler?" And intentionally broke Hogan's leg. [10]
Professional wrestling career [ edit ]
Early years (1977-1979) [ edit ]
Within a year, Matsuda had prepared him for his first professional presentation, in which Eddie Graham fought against Brian Blair on August 10, 1977 in Fort Myers, Florida . [11] Shortly after, Bollea wore a mask and took on the image of "The Super Destroyer", which was first performed by Don Jardine and then a hatred character used by other wrestlers. A few months later he joined the Alabama area of Louis Tillet , where he was ed Leslie (later Brutus BeefcakeWith famous name) created Tag Team as Terry and Ed Boulder. Since only a few people knew their real names besides their close friends, families and their sponsors, so in the initial matches played as a tag team, due to the use of the boulder surname by both the individuals, wrestling fans, It was rumored that Hogan and Beefcake were both brothers between those who were unaware of the internal work-system. During this time he appeared on a talk show, where he starred in the television series, The Incredible Hulk 's Stars, Lou FerriganoWere sitting with. The host commented on how Terry, who had a weight of £ 295 with a 6 foot 7 inch (201 cm) and 24 inch biceps, had proven "the hulk" dwarf. As a result, Bollea started performing as Terry "The Hulk" Boulder, and sometimes wrestled as Sterling Golden. [2]
In May 1979 Bollea participated for the first time in the NWA World Heavyweight Competition , whose winner was generally considered to be the industry's best in those days. In June 1979, Bollea won the first wrestling contest, the NWA South Heavyweight Championship , validated in Alabama and Tennessee by defeating Ox Baker .
World Wrestling Federation (1979-1980) [ edit ]
Later that year, former NWA World Contest winner Terry Funk asked Bolia the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) chief Vincent J. Introduced McMahon , who was influenced by their charm and physical formation. McMahon, who wanted to use an Irish name, gave Hollan the nickname to Bollea. [12] At this time, Hogan wrestledwith Bob Backlund for the WWF Championship , [13] and also started his first big fight with André the Giant , which ended in August 1, 1980 as a match with André at Shea Stadium . Hui. [14]Hulk Hogan has claimed in his autobiography that he and André the Giant were the reason for She Gate. However, wherever they wrestled before the show, they sold Sammartino / Zbyszko. As a main event before fighting wrestling in Shia, Hogan and André wrestled at White Plains, New York, where 1,200 people came in a 3500-capacity building. In this early stage as a villain in the WWF, Hogan teamed up with "Classy" Freddy Blissy , a wrestler and manager.
New Japan Pro Wrestling (1980-1983) [ edit ]
A large part of Hogan's initial success was achieved in New Japan Pro Wrestling . Japanese wrestling fans were amazed by the giant white Americans and they gave it the nickname "Ichiban" (which translates to "Number One"). Hogan first appeared in Japan on May 13, 1980, while he was still with the WWF. From Tatsumi Fujinami to Abdullah the BatcherTill the broad range of opponents, visiting the country from time to time for the next few years. Unlike in Japan, during the bouts of competition, Hogan had become accustomed to seeing his power-based fighter style, using the American fan who used to be more wrestling, depending on the technical, traditional moves and tips of wrestling, the wide range of various western moves Used. Another difference is that in Japan, Hogan used a rope (which is called "X Bomber") in Japan, in contrast to the leg drop used in America, as a symbol of the end of the fight. In the final match of the 10-men's knockout competition, in which the top talents from all over the world were included, on June 2, 1983, Antonio Inoki , symbol of Japanese wrestlingHogan became the winner of the first international wrestling Grand Prix (IWGP competition) (although he had a belt of the IWGP Heavyweight Championship , but this was not the beginning of the real competition). [15] Hogan and Inoki also served as partners in Japan, and for two consecutive years: in 1982 and 1983, won the prestigious MSG Tag League competition. Hogan's popularity in Japan was so high that he also recorded an album there - the lead of the World Wrestling Federation's " Rock 'n' Wrestling " in the mid-1980s .
American Wrestling Association (1981-1983) [ edit ]
After filming his scenes for Rocky III against McMahon's desire , Hogan made his debut in the American Wrestling Association (AWA) owned by Verne Gagne . Hogan began his journey with the "Luscious" Johnny Valiant as his manager, as a villain , but AWA's audience liked the strong and more attractive Hogan, and the organizers of the AWA would soon join Hogan the face of change left him. Using " Eye of the Tiger " as his theme music , Hogan soon became the top face of the campaign-campaign, and throughout 1983, he was named AWA World Winner Nick Bockwinkle and his manager Bobby Heinen Engaged in a major fight against Although Gagne continued to tease the audience of AWA by organizing several screwjobs (Screwjob) to retain the title near Bockwinkel, an experienced player in the area and after Gagné's retirement from active competitions, he became the main identity of the organization . At that time, the politics released from behind the scenes (when Hogan was a new star of Japan, Gagne had made an agreement of genius-sharing with All-Japan Pro wrestling ; these two groups had a rivalry at that time), Gagne They did not want to be a winner. On several occasions, Hogan won the title by defeating Bockwinkle, but the decision was changed later on each time. [16]Due to the reluctance of Verne Gagne to give Hogan a bigger share of his business sales, Hogan himself was frustrated. Later on, Gagne finally agreed to declare Hogan a winner of the AWA title; However, according to Hogan, Gagne Hogan wanted a part of the big money being earned from Japan's regular visits, seeking more control over the events being conducted by Hogan overseas. Hogan refused to say that he did not need the AWA title at that point. Also in Hogan's autobiography, according to him, Verne Gagne wanted to bring Hogan into the family by giving her the AWA title before marriage. Hogan, reluctant to abandon his unmarried life to win the World title of AWA, continued to deny the belt. Shortly after attempts to bring Hogan to marriage to Hogan and to bring him to the Gagne family,Of Vincent McMahon , who had recently purchased the WWF from his ailing father, has given Hogan a temptation to return to the northeast again.
Almost twenty years later, just before the addition of Hulk Hogan to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005, under the authority of the revived AWA, Swamy Dale Gagne (actual nickname: Gagner), showed softness and Hogan's two on Nick Bockwinkel The title was recognized by the winners, from which they became the two-time AWA winner. [17] Though this proposal has been considered uncertified by most individuals because the revived AWA is generally considered to be completely separate bodies from the old AWA, owned by Verne Gagne. Recently, DVD The Spectacular Legacy of the AWAUntil the release, interviews between Hogan and Gagne show that there is still hostility between the two parties, which denies the possibility that Hogan's rule on the AWA title was accepted by genuine ownership. WWE won a lawsuit against Del Gagner, due to a trademark infringement, which proved to be a liar for Gagne's claims on the AWA and thus made the proposal controversial because WWE Hulk Hogan was given only twelve US titles. Approvals and does not include AWA World titles.
World Wrestling Federation (1983-1993) [ edit ]
Birth of Lightmania [ edit ]
After buying the World Wrestling Federation from his father in 1982, Vincent K. McMahon's plan was to expand its territory through a nation-wide publicity, and he chose Hulk Hogan as the face of the company due to his fascination and fame. Hogan defeated Bill Dickson on 27 December 1983 , in his return to the WWF by a television tape in St. Louis, Missouri . [18] Once again, Hogan appeared as a villain, while pairing with Blissy; However, it was for very brief times.
In the January 7, 1984, edition of Champion Wrestling , Hoganchanged his image by saving Bob Backlund from a triangular attack. [19] The simple interpretation of Hogan's change was made by Backlund: "He has changed his ways, he is a great person, he has told me that he will not allow Blessie to come around." The storyline route after less than three weeks was necessary because, on January 23, Madison Square Garden in The Iron Sheik (whose party was in Blessy) beat Hogan his first WWF Championship win. [2] [20] The plot related to the win was that Hogan was taken in "last minute" instead of Shake's real competitor Bob Backlund, [4]And he became the winner because of being the first person to escape Camel Clutch (Iron Shake Emblem). [21]
Immediately after winning the title, the declarator Gorilla Monsoon announced that "Lightmania has come!" Hogan used to often refer to his fans as "LightMania" and presented his three "Requirements": Training , Praying , and Vitamin Consumption. Later, in the 1990s, during his fight with Earthquake , a fourth requirement ( believing in self ) was added. A yellow-and-red color scheme developed as a feature of Hogan's ring gear; Their entry into the ring rituals as Fadhkr shirt off his body, bendAnd it was necessary for them to listen to the loud voice from the audience exaggerated. During this time, most of Hogan's bouts included fighting bad villagers organized as unbound monsters , using a format which almost became a daily action: Hogan would strike a steady attack, but ultimately his power Will lose and reach near defeat. Only by being "nurtured" by the energy of the audience, they will experience some other wind and they will again become impermeable towards invasion-a process that is described as "hulking up". After this, his symbol, by pointing at the opponent, shaking his finger while screaming, three punches, an Irish whip, big shoesand molecular leg dropUsed to come - who used to ensure their victory. Sometimes this final sequence could change on the basis of plot and opponent; For example, with larger wrestlers, this sequence could involve body slam .
The next year, when McMahon extended the WWF to Rockstar 'N' Wrestling Connection on MTV , in the process, in the process, involving record houses, per-view payout rate and television assessment, as a pop culture enterprise, So Hulk Hogan became the face of Wrestling Pro Wrestling. [4]After the match, André handed the title to Dibas to complete his business deal. [40] As a result, for the first time in its 25-year history, the WWF title remains vacant. [40] At WrestleMania IV , Hogan participated in the tournament to regain the vacant WWF title and faced André in the quarter-final of the tournament, but his match ended with double disqualification. [41] Later that night, in the main event, Hogan interfered in the middle and defeated Ted DiBaas and helped "Macko Man" Randy Savage to win the title . [42]
The Mega Powers (1988-1989) [ edit ]
Hogan, Savage and manager Ms. Elizabeth started a partnership together, which is known as The Mega Powers . [43] After Savage became the winner of WrestleMania IV, he competed with The Mega Bucks (Ted DiBiase and André the Giant) and defeated them in the main event of the first SummerSlam . [44] Though very soon, in 1989, The Mega Powers were disintegrated because Savage's jealousy was revealed to Hogan and he suspected that Hogan and Elizabeth's relationship were "more than friendship". This rigged further in the Royal Rumble , when Hogan unknowingly saves Savage out of the Royal Rumble match . [45]The pair broke down while fighting wrestling with the Twin Towers in the February 3, 1989 edition of The Main Event. During the match, Savage unknowingly collided with Miss Elizabeth. Hogan took him behind the stage to get medical aid and left Savage alone for some time. When he returned to the ring, Savage hit Hogan and went out of the ring, and eventually Hogan won the match alone. [46] After the match, Savage attacked Hogan behind the stage, causing a fight between the two . [43] This dissonance ended when Hogan won his second WWF title by washing Savage at WrestleMania V. [4] [43]
The late title reign (1989-1992) [ edit ]
Hogan's second round lasted for a year, during which he starred in the film No Holds Bard . This film was an inspiration for Hogan's co-star Tom Lister, Jr. , who appeared in wrestling events as his film character Zeus. Zeus was a demon villain who was "jealous" about Hogan's high remuneration and wanted to take revenge. Nonetheless, in the end of 1989, Hogan successfully managed to defeat Zeus in a series of matches held throughout the country , a tag match from SummerSlam , in which Hogan and Brutus Beefcake defeated Zeus and Savage. [47] No Holds BardThe fight ended when Hogan and Beefcake defeated Zeus and Savage in a match again during a pay-per-view payment. [48] [49]

On television, the announcers announced that Hogan's injuries and his defeat to The Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania VI had a great impact on their zeal for fighting that they wanted to retire. The audience was asked to send a postcard asking Hogan to write the letter and ask for his return (instead he would get postcard-sized pictures signed by Hogan as "thanks"). Hogan returned from SummerSlam 1990 and for some months, dominated Earthquake in a series of matches organized across the country. [52]The event of defeating the big enemy in this unexpected way has forced Hogan the fourth requirement: to believe in himself, to add. They are also known as "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan. After winning the 1991 Royal Rumble match , Hogan became the first wrestler to win two consecutive Royal Rumble Championships. [1] [1] [4] [50]
At WrestleMania VII , Hogan fought against Sgt. Slaughter on behalf of USA and defeated him to win his third WWF title. The WWF title was decided on the 1992 Royal Rumble in the Royal Rumble match . Due to his being dismissed by his friend Sid Justice , Hogan failed to get the title back, and in turn he allowed Sid to be out, which won Ric Flair and he became the new winner. [56] Hogan and Sid had resolved the issues and on February 8, 1992 Saturday Night's Main Event version left with Hogan during teamed up against Ric Flair and The Undertaker, but against Sid between [ 57] Thereby resentment began In WrestleMania VIII , Hogan defeated Sid by means of ineligence due to interference by Sid manager Harvey Vipulman . [58]After that Hogan was attacked by Papa Shango and the returned Ultimate Warrior saved him. [58]
At the same time, news sources began to accuse that a doctor of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission, George Zahorian, was illegally selling wounds to the wrestlers and specifically Hogan banned drugs. To deny these allegations, Hogan appeared in a part of the Arsenio Hall Show . Due to intense public scrutiny, Hogan took leave of absence from the company. [59]
Return and departure (1993-1994) [ edit ]
In January 1993, Hogan returned to the WWF and Money Inc. ( Ted DiBiase and E. Rivin R. Schuster ), and formally named himself The Mega-Maniacs . [48] Hogan and Beefcake at WrestleMania IX have named Money Inc For the WWF Tag Team competition , but ended up losing the match by disqualification. [48] [60] Later that night, Yokozuna by Bret Hart to be defeated after a few moments, Hogan won his fifth WWF Championship by defeating Yokozuna. [60] [61]During the first annual King of the Ring pay-per-view payment on June 13, 1993, after defeating Yokozuna in WrestleMania IX, Hogan defended the title against former winner Yokozuna. Due to being unable to see Hogan through a fire ball shot by a "Japanese photographer" (actually pseudo-strip Harvey Vipulman), Yokozuna Hogan's symbol survived the leg drop and received a pinball score. The victorious Yokozuna went ahead and gave Honge a Banzai Drop . [45] [62] It was Hogan's last WWF pay-per-view payment until 2002, as he and Jimmy HartBoth were preparing to leave the promotion. By August 1993, Hogan was going to continue his fight with Yokozuna on the domestic show circuit. After that, Hogan had to sit out with his contract, which was about to end that year later.
In 1994, Hogan testified against Vince McMahon in a federal lawsuit related to banned medicines obtained from Doctor Zahorian by both sides. Hogan swore an oath that since 1976 he had used restricted hygiene drugs to increase size and weight , but Vince McMahon had neither sold these medicines nor ordered him to consume them. Due to this issue and other jurisdiction issues, McMahon was found not guilty. [63]

World Championship Wrestling (1994-2000) [ edit ]
Early round (1994-1996) [ edit ]
On leaving the WWF in the summer of 1993, Hogan divided his time between acting in movies, television, wrestling in Japan and spending time with his family. In June 1994, Hogan signed with Ted Turner 's World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and began appearing on television the following month. Hogan won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in an earlier match, defeating Ric Flair in a dream-dream match at Bash at the Beach . [64] Flair and his counterparts for the next fifteen months, [65] The Batcher (former partner Brutus Beefcake), [66] Wedder , [67] [68] [69] and After winning the Dungeon of Doom [70] in 1995, Hogan lost the belt from The Giant in Halloween Havoc in 1995 . [71] After the controversial defeat (which was due to a sub-section of the contract), the WCW title was vacant.
In early 1996, Hogan continued his fight with The Giant , [72] before making a pair with Randy Savage in a fight against the alliance for the end of Hulkamania . [73] After coming out after winning his battles, Hogan only occasionally started appearing in WCW programs.
New World Order (1996-1998) [ edit ]
In 1996 at Bash at the beach , during a tag team match of six people to defeat The Outsiders ( Kevin Nash and Scott Hall ) against the WCW loyalists , Hogan interfered with Nash and Hall on Randy Savage And thus they became villains for the first time after ten years . After the match, Hogan presented a promo while addressing his fans and WCW to reduce their talent and charm and announced the creation of the new wing (nWo). [7] [45] [74] [74] In the coming weeks and months, this new placegained fame. [2] [4][74] [75] With his famous mustache, Hogan took a beard and painted it in black, changed his red and yellow dress to black and white clothes, which were often expanded with shiny bolts and changed their name Hollywood Hogan retained. Hogan returned to WCW programming eight days after the change in the form of a villain. [1]
Hogan won his second WCW World Heavyweight title in Hog Wild after defeating The Giant for the title. [7]After that, Sting won the vacant title Hogan in SuperBarl VIII . [79]
Then there was hostility to Hogan's ex-friend (and new members of the nWo) Randy Savage, who recently defeated Hogan in a title match in SuperBar with a spray-can. [45] This heat peaked in an iron cage at Uncensored , which ended without competition. [80] Savage snatched the world title by stinging at Spring Stampede , while Hogan tied with Kevin Nash to face Rowdy Piper and The Giant in the first ever batting match . [81] Hogan beat Nash with a bat and betrayed him and challenged Savage for his title next night. [75]In a disqualified contest for Savage's recently won title , Nash entered the ring and taking revenge for last night's attack, Hogan burstout. After a few moments, Bret Hart interfered and attacked Savage and became a villain, saving Hogan's victory, who won his fourth WCW World Heavyweight title. In the second tag team match with Denis Rudman in Bash at the Beach , he was faced with Diamond Dallas Page and Karl Malone, [84] and in Road Wild if Kevin Ubanks , who helped Bischoff with a diamond cutter, did not interfere. Had he lost to Eric Bischoff , Page and Jay Leno [85] Hogan again competed with The Ultimate Warrior in Halloween Havoc , where his nephew Horace helped him win. [86] The Tonight Show with Jay Leno In an appreciation section, Hogan made a formal announcement of his retirement from professional wrestling as well as his candidature for the United States presidential election. [87] Hogan and Bischoff appeared on a news-propagated footage broadcasting on the nitro , taking a press-negotiation that appeared to be valid . However, both announcements proved to be false in the long run, which was just an attempt to gain popularity to bring some part of Jesse Vanuvertura 's return to the Minnesota governor's post . [87]
After being out of WCW for some time, Hogan returned to the January 4, 1999 edition of Nitro and challenged Kevin Nash to the WCW title. By winning this match, Hogan won his fifth WCW World Heavyweight title, but due to the controversial circumstances associated with the change of title the match was termed " Fingerpock of Doom ". [88] As a result, the warring factions of the nWo gathered in a group and started fighting against Bill Goldberg and The Four Horsemen .

With flowing blood flowing in large quantities, Flair won the match through pinball, whose punch was Charles Robinson . [7] [89] However during the match, some of Hogan's symptoms began to show that a change in the image is near because some of his old moves such as "Hulking Up" were no longer sold. [45] However, this change was to wait longer as Hogan was badly injured in a Texas Tornado match for the World title in Spring Stampede , in which sting ,Diamond Dallas Page and Flair were included. [90]
In the July 12 edition of Nitro , Hogan made his grand return as a complete face and accepted Savage's challenge, who won the world title by defeating Kevin Nash in a tag team match on Bash at the beach last night. Due to Nash's interference, Hogan defeated Savage to win his sixth and final WCW World Heavyweight title. [91] Although next week Nash attacked them and the fight broke out between the two, which had to continue till the next pay-per-view.
On 9 August 1999, he started the night in the special black and white clothes for the main event of the 6-men tag team event, but after the controversy surrounding his son behind the stage, Hogan was out in his traditional red and yellow clothes Returns. After that, he saved the title defeating Nash in his wildly contesting match at Road Wild . Although injuries and frustration were increasing and they were absent from television from October 1999 to February 2000. In his book Hollywood Hulk Hogan , Bollea has said that the new chief of the creative event , Vince Russo, had asked him to wait for some time and he was not told when he would be brought back. Despite some objections, they agreed to do so. On the 24th of OctoberIn the Halloween Havoc , Hogan had to face the sting for the WCW World Heavyweight title (which he lost to Sting in Last Bral last month , when Sting had beaten Hogan with fraud and became a villain in the process). [92] Although Hogan came in a formal dress wearing a ring, he bowed down to the pin and walked off the ring. [93]
Soon after his return in February 2000, on July 9, at Bash at the Beach , Hogan was involved in a disputed, natural event with Vince Russo . Hogan was scheduled to fight for Jeff Jarrett for the WCW World Heavyweight title . [94] Before the match, there was a dispute between Hogan and Russo. Without Hogan's information, Russo asked Jarrett to lie between the rings and ordered Hogan to bow down directly to him. Hogan, apparently being confused, assumed the order, put his foot on Jarrett's chest and said in the hands of the microphone, "Was it your idea, Rooso ...? Because of this kind of nonsense this company is so bad Recently! " Russo came out and responded by saying"From the very first day, since I am in WCW, I have not done anything ... nothing ... I am dealing with trivial politics just behind the scenes." Since Hogan had refused to work on defeating Jarrett , a new WCW World Heavyweight title was created, after which the stage was ready for the title match between Booker T and Jeff Jarrett that night . [45] There was a hot debate over whether this whole event was a scene or a genuine one. As a result, Hogan filed a law -abusing lawsuit against Russo shortly after , [95] which was eventually rejected in 2002. Russo claims that this whole incident was real and Hogan claims that Russo made it a scene.[96] Eric Bischoff agreed to the Hogan side of the story while writing this, that the victory of Hogan and the departure of the title was real, and after the incident, he and Hogancelebrated Angle 's victory, but out of Russo Hogan was an unplanned scene after coming, after which Hogan filed a lawsuit. [7] [9 9]
Finally, in the months following the WCW postponement in March 2001, Hogan conducted his knee surgery so that he could fight again wrestling. As a test, Hogan joined in an event in Orlando, Florida in a campaign run for X Wrestling Federation , by his old manager Jimmy Hart . In this match, Hogan defeated Kurt Henning and felt himself fit to return to the WWF in February 2002. [7]
