Biography Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was born in 1929 in Atlanta , United States. Dr. King conducted a successful non-violent movement against the discrimination against the Negro community in the United States. The year 1955 was the turning point of his life. She was married to Correta this year, she was called to deliver a discourse at the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery City, Alabama, Alabama, USA, and this year, a woman, Mrs. Rose Parks, was arrested against the difference of black-white in the public buses of Montgomery. . After this, Dr. King started the famous bus movement.
After this Satyagrahi movement lasted for 381 days, the provision for separate seats for black and white passengers in American buses was abolished. He later spread the same civil law movement in the northern part of America with the help of religious leaders. He was awarded the Nobel Prize at the age of 64 for world peace. Many American universities gave him honorary titles Religious and social institutions provided medal to them. The 'Time' magazine chose him as the 'Man of the Year' in 1963. They were very impressed with Gandhiji's non-violent movement. Following Gandhiji's ideals, Dr. King launched such a successful movement in America, which also got the support of most of the whites.
In 1959 he traveled to India. Dr. King wrote several articles in the newspapers. 'Stride Toward Freedom' (1958) and 'Why We Can not Wait' (1964) are two of his books. In 1957, he established the South Christian Leadership Conference. Dr. King's dear speech was- "We are not what we should be, and we are not those who are going to be, but thank God, that we are not those who were we." He was shot dead on April 4, 1968.
