Dwayne Douglas Johnson [5] ( English : Dwayne Douglas Johnson , born 2 May 1972 [4] ), known by his rock name The Rock , is an American film actor and wrestler who falls under RAW brand of WWE. [6] [7] They are often referred to as Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson . [2]
Johnson was a college footballer. In 1991, he became a member of the University of Miami's national championship dim. He later played in the Canadian Football League on behalf of Calgary Stampeards, but he was banned for two months in 1995. [8] As a result, he decided to become a wrestler like his grandfather Peter Maivia and father Rocky Johnson. He gained popularity from World Entertainment Wrestling (WWE), which was then known as World Wrestling Association (WWF). Johnson was soon presented as a good character in the name of "Rocky Mavia" and later named him "The Rock". After two years of joining the WWF, he took the WWF competition and became the most popular wrestler in the history of the company. [9] [10]

Johnson's autobiography, The Rock Sayze ..., which he wrote together with John Leiden, was published in 2000. The book remained in New York's best-selling books list for several weeks. Johnson's role as the actor was in the film Scorpion King made in 2002 . For this role, he got the highest amount, $ 55 million, so far given to a new actor. [13] After this he worked in several hit films including The Rundown , Be Cool , Walking Tall , GridIron Gang , The Game Plan , Get Smart , Race to Third World , Planet 51 , Tooth Ferry, Doom , The Other Guy , Faster, and the recently released Fast Five, in which they worked with Win Diesel and Paul Walker.
